Romantic Getaways

I feel right now as if I am in a sea of unanswered questions and uncertainty. I feel paralysed by all the choices life has to offer. I have a bad habit of wanted to think threw many options before making a decision. I like to collect information, and then weigh the choices thoroughly before I feel good about a decision. Otherwise I am always wondering if I made the right choice.

The best and most fun decision we have to make is about our 10 year anniversary. Jeff and I would like to do something fun. Any ideas? Our tenth is in a year and a month. However, we will not have a lot of time together during that year and a month.

He is currently away in Alabama and the Senior NCO Academy. It is about a three hour drive from our house. He came home last weekend, but isn't planning to come home this coming weekend. He doesn't think we should go up this weekend either. I was thinking it would be fun to go up and get a hotel room for me and the girls. Maybe another weekend. I guess the academy is a lot of work and over the weekend he has special projects and homework and so coming home every week is not going to happen. Seems to me that doing homework would be easier at home with the family, but that probably isn't true.

Jeff and I had originally planned on going to Cancun for our honeymoon, but due to the military stuff we ended up not being able to do that. Instead we ended up going to Cincinnati in November and it was cold, and we stayed at a Howard Johnson.

We are thinking of going to Cancun for our tenth anniversary. In fact we have had that plan since our honeymoon. I am however, worried about being in another country while the girls are here. Even if I ask my parents to come and stay with them, I still worry.

We also thought about renting a cabin in the Smokey Mountains. But, as we researched that trip it sounded like it would be more fun with the girls, than on our own.

Any romantic getaway ideas out there friends?

Depends on how far away you can go from the girls. You could look into the military resorts. There is one in Virgina Beach called "Cape Henry" check it(web site) out.Since you are active duty you get first choice. Of course there is always a cabin at Bellows on Oahu.Check out their web site www.belowsafs.com. There is one in Orlando too at Disney World called Shades of Green ? We spent ours at The Lodge at Pebble Beach in 1980 at $99 a night now it's like 450 a night!Good luck.Nana K.

It's good that you weigh your options and don't make impulsive decisions. I hope you find the perfect place.

We spent our 5th Anniversary at the Halekoa, a beautiful military hotel on the beach at Waikiki in Hawaii. It was fabulous.
