Eight Things

My new blogging buddy Marion, a fellow blog villager tagged me some time ago for a meme. Marion's blog Herbal Connection is wonderful. She is such a wonderful writer. An ordinary trip to the story is told with so much personality that I feel such a connection to Marion. All those things that run through our heads as we lead our life, she has a magical way of capturing life, that makes me feel like saying, yes-that is just what I think. I strongly recommend that you add Marion to your daily read. Sorry it has taken me so long to do this meme. I am supposed to tell you eight things not generally known about me....

  1. I have zero grace. I am incredibly envious of people who have grace. I just bumble through things, always in a hurry, always efficient, never graceful. I took ballet as a little girl, I can only imagine what that looked like. I still have bruises on my legs from bumping into things.
  2. I have a brown thumb. I buy plants, I plant things, they all die. I want to be a gardener, but it usually does not work out so well. I am most surprised that my animals and kids survive me.
  3. The only sweet I like is chocolate, I don't really like any other type of candy or treat, I don't particularly like ice cream either. But, I love me some chocolate.
  4. My favorite colors change all the time. One day I can love a color and the next day, not so much. I always love green. Some days I adore turquoise some days I can't stand it, same with pink.
  5. Speaking of color, Lily and I wear the same color everyday. We have the same coloring and I tend to, buy her the same colors as I buy for myself. I don't do it intentionally, I honestly don't even notice that we are wearing the same color until Jeff points it out. Even right now we are both wearing pink shirts. I don't know how it happens, she picks out her own clothes now. I am not sure if I am copying her or if she is copying me. It happened when she was a baby too. It freaks me out a bit, because it really is not intentional. I just don't pay attention, and it just happens.
  6. I believe that drinking water will cure anything. Anytime anyone in my family has any problem at all, I give them water. Headache, when was the last time you drank water. Stuffy nose, drink some water. Twisted your ankle, you need water to improve your circulation and kick start the healing process. Plus if you freeze it you can have an ice pack.
  7. I collect globes, maps and clocks. Maybe this is why Lily is the way she is?
  8. I don't like Christmas, this year I am doing my very best fake it till you make it, I have almost convinced myself that it is going to be SO MUCH FUN.
I am tagging, all you poor souls doing NaBloPoMo that are struggling like me, or anyone else it is easier than you think once you get going. Thanks Marion for tagging me.

Shhh. I don't like Christmas either.

Is this something we're supposed to tell people though? It seems like something that should be a deep dark secret. Lol.

I wanted to tell you that Utz chips, which are from Pennsylvania are a gluten free food. This would have never meant anything to me until you opened my eyes to this past Lily problem. They are really good chips if you ever get a change to buy a bag when you visit Virginia since the mainly sell in the northeast.

I love water. My family goes through lots and lots of water. It really is good for you!

I'm not very graceful either...I wonder if I am off balance from drinking too much water? lol

Being one of those 'poor souls doing NaBloPoMo', I will definitely do this meme soon. Thanks for helping me out;~)

I am crazy about Christmas -- if it meant I could just stay home and watch the Christmas tree all day long, while also watching sappy Christmas movies on TV and listening to sappy Christmas songs on the radio. I'm not so much into the gift-giving/receiving, the traveling, and the extended-family time. Basically I like being alone.

The water thing reminds me of the father in My Big Fat Greek Wedding who thought Windex would cure anything. :-) The fact that you and Lily dress in the same color is weird!

Nice post. I see we have a few things in common. I dislike Christmas...too commercial and too many drunks behind the wheel killing innocents, I think water cures many problems and I have always loved green.

I always perscribe water, and exercise.

Depressed? Go for a walk.
Headache? Drink some water and go for a walk.

etc...

Funny how many things are similar on your list to how I feel, Marsha, lol!

Christmas is not my favourite time of year; water is the cure for everything, and the colour green is my absolute number one choice...for anything.

I also love dark chocolate. It is the only sweet I like. It has to be plain.

Until I was told by my foot specialist that some people just can't wear running shoes without falling, I thought I was just clumsy. Turns out there are folks with foot shapes that shouldn't wear sneakers, because they overbalance (or something) and fall. Who knew?

Thanks for doing this, Marsha...I so appreciate it, and I found out we're very similar!

I am horrible at growing things. I also say it's a wonder that human survive in my house. Christmas? I'm wishing I could take a pass on that this year.

I love Christmas time but not the materialism that's come to be associated with this time of year. I love the time together with family, the spirit of giving to those who are in need and the foods, smells and sounds. I hope I don't run off people when I start doing Christmas posts. I can get carried away.

I think you are right about the water thing. I have a hard time drinking as much as I should.

Thanks for a fun read here.

I agree 100% about Marion's blog. She "sees" everything so beautifully, and is able to express it so poetically.
