How would you feel if you called a reputable plumber and the person who showed up to fix the pipes under your sink was a female in a pink spring halter dress. Imagine your discomfort as she tries to get herself under the sink, all the while her breast are popping out as she bends, her bottom as she squats and scoots. How much respect would you have for her ability to perform the job at hand? How much respect for her profession is she showing by trying to do a job that requires getting on the floor in a cute little pink sundress?
This is exactly how I feel about all the moms who come to the library story time in their cute little pink dresses or their skin tight jeans. Ladies, you have to sit on the floor, you have to crawl around on your hands and knees to coral your 1 1/2 year old. Have some respect for the job, have some respect for the fact that you are a mom and your job requires you to get down and dirty. Screw Oprah, put your kids needs above looking cute. Cause honey, you look anything but cute crawling around on the floor with your t and a hanging out in the middle of the library story time.
I Think I May Have A Screw Loose

I saw my podiatrist yesterday. One part of my foot is still hurting (it's
been almost two months since the surgery). He thinks it may be one of the
screws ...

Hello, how are you today? I just thought I would stop by and say, "Hello." I am so sorry that it took me so long. I have been extremely busy. Stop by my place sometime. Have a wonderful day!
Very good point. I've wondered this many times myself (in lots of situations).
We had a neighbor move in across the street about 8 years ago. She was very young, newly engaged and very attractive. Soon she was pregnant. That baby was born and she would often stoll down the street in shorts that read "Sweet A$$" across the back. Even my husband commented on it. She proceeded to have 4 more children in the space of 5 years and has now joined the rest of us in the jeans and sweats crew. I sometimes think it is insecurity that makes us moms do some of the crazy things we do. I often ask why I only wear makeup if I have our family grief support meeting that night. And yet, many times, I've gone face free of it to work.
You know my t and a hang out and it isn't because I want them too! LOL!
onemargaret: hi long time no see.
sniz: I am glad I am not alone
laura: you are right, I am sure I have done this as well, just frustrating to see a mom at story time having so much trouble keeping herself from being exposed and wrangling her kid.
kimberly: always good for a laugh.
LOL! Your last line cracked me up! Maybe it was just the plumber's wife. ;-)
Oh, my, I so know what you mean. I have a couple moms that come to volunteer in my library that are not dressed appropriately. We have some moms that come in and volunteer and are wearing their tennis outfits!
I love the fact that you labeled this "complaints departments," soooo made me laugh.
What in the world does Oprah have to do with it?
Luckyzmom: I feel like at least 1/4 of all Oprah's shows are about how moms need to dress better. I think some moms are ashamed to come to a playgroup where being on the floor is required wearing mommy jeans that enable them so crawl around after their children. I feel like the shame comes from Oprah and her desire to beautify the moms of America.
Ha ha this post made me smile Marsha.
