We took the advise of all my wise blogging friends and did a lot of research before visiting the car dealer. We decided that our first choice for a new car was a Hyundai Elantra. We secured a bank loan and were off to the dealership knowing what we wanted to pay.
First we stopped and had lunch at Jeff's favorite restaurant Seoul, a Korean restaurant. We love it there, but you end up with some very stinky breath. We thought that might speed the negotiations along.
We test drove the car, loved it. We negotiated it down to our price. It took our bank 4 hours to accomplish all the back and forth faxing required to get the pre-approved loan money into the hands of the car dealer. What a bunch of crap. When we would try to call them, even with a specific extension it was all voice mail hell. But, we went home with our pretty new car. I have never even driven a brand new car before let alone owned one. It is very exciting.
At night, in the rain, over the road contraction and crappy roads, what a difference a new car makes. Or at least this new car, she is perfect. So we ended up with the car we wanted. She has excellent millage, a huge trunk, a wide back seat, lots of backseat leg room, and she is smoking hot and sexy. We got her in blue, pretty sparkly blue. I will take some pictures soon.
Today we are starting swim lessons and I have to dash. Six weeks 4 days per week, hope it is fun and ultimately helpful.
I Think I May Have A Screw Loose

I saw my podiatrist yesterday. One part of my foot is still hurting (it's
been almost two months since the surgery). He thinks it may be one of the
screws ...

Congratulations!
Yay! You got the new car -- congratulations. I'm glad you're loving it.
Wooo Hooo!
So exciting. And I too love the new car feeling. So secure and safe, no worries for a long long time.
Can't wait to see pics.
Awesome! Just curious when you said she had excellent milage...did you mean gas milage or does she have milage already on it...My friendly Angel and I were discussing this. By they way, what is her name? Hottie?
she had 18 miles on her when we bought her and she gets more than 30 mpg in town. I guess that means both.
