The book vote

With Four great books suggested I am putting up a vote poll on the sidebar. I was thinking we should vote and pick sooner than Friday. As soon as I get everyone's vote I will post the results. No matter which book we pick for this month we can always read the other ones later. They all appear to be great reads, I think I am going to order them all, just for fun.

I am not really sure how an online bookclub is supposed to work? I was thinking that once we have read the book I will post the bookclub questions on my blog and we can discuss. I will invite anyone who wishes to participate in the discussion to join us. Most of the time the discussion questions use the book as a jumping off point but you don't really have to read to have an opinion.

I am so stoked and crossing appendages for 'Last Girls'. My husband picked the book out all by himself to give his mom for Mother's Day. I pulled my copy off the shelf - which hasn't been read since 2002 - and have been thinking, thinking, thinking about re-reading it.

No more thinking.

Selected for the book club or not? I'm on page 37 as I type.

Yay!

P.S. As a newly minted Mississippian, you shoud be REQUIRED to read this book. IMHO.

The Last Girls looks really interesting. I'm already half through with The Memory Keeper's Daughter, so I should be able to move on to our selection shortly! :)

I was kinda surprised by that negative review (for The Memory Keeper's Daughter); I'm a picky reader and I'm absolutely riveted by this book. I think it's great! I guess that's what makes the world go 'round. ;-)

I'm also reading the Memory Keeper's daughter so I hope it gets picked. I plan on reading it still. For anyone who is interested there is a great thing for those who do not have time to read. It is an audio book club like NetFlix. You can go to www.onthegobooks.com

I will be happy with any of these books, despite my vote!

Angel, how far through it are you? I'm a little over halfway and for me it just keeps getting better. I'm losing sleep 'cause I don't want to put it down. :D
