Bugs

Last night we had a bug the size of a rat in our kitchen.

I screamed, "Jeff".

He was sitting with his feet propped up watching basketball. Instead of hearing the terror in my voice and coming running, his reply was, "what".

When I finally convinced him to come and kill the bug, he asked me where the paper towels are. I told him he was on his own and left the vicinity.

My dog and cat were neither one of them any help at all in this escapade. Which is so funny because this morning I am sitting outside on my back patio, enjoying the sounds of birds chirping. The dog is chasing away any bird who comes into our yard. She is acting like she is king of the hill.

It is so nice when I see a bug and DH is home to 'get rid' it for me...But when he isn't home, then the kids scream for me to 'get rid' of it. Then I have to put on a brave face (let out a scream) and deal with it...yuck.

Lynn: I was very lucky that Jeff was home. I certaintly cannot count on the dog or cat in the case of a bug emergency! I have had to kill many bugs in my day. I love being able to yell for Jeff.

Gen: Thanks. I hope your weekend was lovely too!

You have very wise pets. They know that it's ok to chase a bird that's the size of a bird. On the other hand, a bug the size of bird? Best not to mess with it! :)

That's one thing I like about midwest winters - bugs either freezes or are stunted from the cold and never get very big. Except for mosquitos. People joke that they are our state bird

I believe you have met the Palametto Bugs...get use to it, they thrive down there. I too, hate bugs. I have a special cup that I put over one and it sits there until Bob takes care of it. Sometimes he is mean and leaves the cup(although he took care of the bug) to see if I will ever move it. It can sit there for days, because I certainly am not going to touch it! MEN! My dog is worthless too, Jake screams with me! LOL
