Saturday Night Fun

Thanks for all your advice about buying a new car. If we ever change our mind and decide to try it again I will be sure to follow all of your sage advice. On Saturday evening after the minivan saga and then a good nap, we decided to go to Chuck E Cheese. A Saturday night at Chuck E Cheese, am I not the coolest person you know?

There happens to be a Barnes and Noble next to the Chuck E Cheese and Mandy still has quite a bit of Christmas Barnes and Noble gift certificate money. A quick stop was made at Barnes and Noble. Lily had not taken a nap and promptly fell to sleep on the 45 minute drive from our house to the Chuck E Cheese / Barnes and Noble. I don't know why we don't have anything closer to us, oh yeah we chose to live in the quiet neighborhood instead of the convenient one. I sat in the car with Lily, she slept I day dreamed. Jeff and Mandy did the book store and then it was off to Chuck E Cheese.

We just love going there. We are all so competitive that we just have a blast playing video games and shooting hoops. Lily loves the kids and the climbing and sliding things.

As we got closer to the Chuck E Cheese we noticed the very full parking lot. Then we noticed a line out the door. I could not believe that there was so many people standing in line waiting to get into Chuck E Cheese. Guess I am not the only Chuck E Cheese fan town. Lily was still asleep and we drove home. She woke up on the road going toward our house and told her dad he was going the wrong way.

Luckily the day before I had bought $475 worth of frozen meat from a door to door salesman. We have plenty to eat. While I may be so far gone into the Mommy thing that I believe Chuck E Cheese is a fun way to spend a Saturday night, I am not so far gone as to be willing to stand in that long of a line for Chuck E Cheese. I keep telling Jeff if we open a book store, movie theater, or Chuck E Cheese here locally we will be millionaires. I guess that would mean an end to our quiet neighborhood. Anyone want to lend me some start up cash?

Mandy gets her braces today. Luckily it is Mardi Gras tomorrow and the kids have today thru Wednesday off from school.

chuck E Cheese was, for me, a place I only needed to visit once.

Were your kids upset they didn't get to go to Chuck E Cheese's? Ours here in town is always packed on Saturdays with birthday parties! LOL

Luckzmom, I am laughing at your poetic way with words.

eally, good point- we usually go midweek. The kids were ok. My Lily (4) got upset today that I took a different route to the dentist than she wanted me to take, but missing Chuck E Cheese was ok that night. I guess it all depends. My other daughter (Mandy, 16) was mostly interested in the bookstore, but she likes to beat me at the basketball shooting gaming and the driving games at Chuck E Cheese.

I only have tomorrow off. My husband and daughter have today through Wednesday. Somehow that just seems unfair! I was always a bad mom -- I just couldn't bring myself to go to Chuck E Cheese -- I only ever went once.

Good luck to Mandy! As far as car-buying goes... I will never ever buy another car from any place other than Carmax. It's the only place we've bought cars in the past 8 years.

I can't imagine having two days off for Mardi Gras. How close are you to New Orleans? It's just poopy old February here, not a school holiday in sight! You are a better mom than me. I don't like Chuck E Cheese. My mom always takes them.

I wonder if being catholic, I should have the day off tomorrow too? Plan to get wild tonight for Fat Tuesday and eat till my heart is content! Giving up snacking after dinner, this may be hard. You know when I taught at the catholic school, we never got off for Fat Tuesday or for the starting of lent, what a sacrifice that you would be!

I never like Chuck E Cheese when Mandy was little. But, my husband loves it there so much I think he makes it for us. They have this basket ball hoop shooting contest, where there are two hoops the get close and go far away, each person shoots at one of the hoops and you see who gets the most points. Then there is a car driving game where you and your friend are on the same track and you can throw tomatoes and stuff at each other. Just all kinds of games that we play against each other. We take turns keeping an eye on Lily and playing with each other.

I live about an hour East of New Orleans.
