I was up all night with a sick kid, Mandy throwing up until 3AM. So tired.
We don't get to vote today, our vote isn't until March 28th, talk about being snubbed.
Mandy, called in sick to work and they told her she had to have a doctor's note because it is Mardi Gras and they are busy. Jerks. Trying to intimidate a sick kid into coming into work. That is how I see it, too bad Jeff works at the hospital and knows people who know people. We were luckily able to get a doctor's note with a phone consult.
I am so tired and would feel bad leaving Mandy who still hasn't kept anything down, so we are having a private home Mardi Gras, with cartoons and cookies. At least we got to go to our local parade. I was looking forward to going to the downtown Biloxi parades this afternoon. I guess it wasn't meant to be.
So, how is your Super Fat Tuesday?
In other news...
I was trying to convince Mandy and Jeff that we should make homemade gifts for Valentine's Day this year instead of buying each other store bought things. I told them for example that Lily was planning on making them heart shaped cookies. I thought that would be a fun project for Lily and I. I still don't know what I am going to do for anyone. As we were brainstorming ideas, Jeff said he would take off all his clothes, streak through the neighborhood, yelling at the top of his lungs, I LOVE MARSHA. Gotta love that guy. Don't know what he is getting the girls.

Sending get well and stay healthy wishes your way!
Be happy your vote isn't until March 28th. As time goes on, candidates drop out so a million different people aren't calling you. Or at least a million people just call for a couple candidates. :) It really sucks living in one of the earlier states.
Oh my gosh...your poor neighbors!
Can you believe I totally forgot it was fat tues!!! What am I giving up?
Lynanne, thanks for the good wishes, I am still bummed that my vote doesn't count. Or maybe it will come down to Mississippi in the end.
Kimberly, Jeff told me to tell you that the neighbors are in for a real treat! LOL. I'll send video.
Nap Warden, I don't know, what do you want to give up. Did you know that most of my friends have no idea what in the heck fat tues is.
Sorry that Mandy is sick. Hope that she feels better soon. If Jeff decides to streak through your neighborhood...will we be seeing the video?...just kidding...lol
how about a personalized and FREE gift for val's day...check out my blog for my giveaway! a personalized novel! hope you come on by. *elizabeth
Jeff is a very brave man!
I hope y'all weren't affected by yesterday's storms... take care.
Sorry to hear your kids are sick. Hope they get better soon. You probably have some much needed rest as well. Sometimes that's not always easy to get when you're taking care of your little ones. Good luck!
P.S. YOUR VOTE DOES COUNT!!!
I don't think middle America celebrates like New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area. I had forgotten until my college son mentioned they were making beignets in the dorm kitchen.
Michigan votes don't even count this year. I begin to think (okay, not really begin) it's all a big joke either way.
Ha! I think you should take Jeff up on his offer and video tape it. Then, when the girls are old enough to have their boyfriends over to be grilled by Jeff, they can whip out the tape and say, "See, he's not so bad. Just grin and bear (bare) it." Now THAT would be a gift of love in the girls' eyes, I bet! :-)
And P.S. Don't for one second think you're vote won't count. Those March primaries are going to be crucial, I think. Mine isn't until May, however, so at least you'll beat me to the polls!
Hope Lily is feeling better!
And that's a funny valentine's present! :-)
we don't really do valentine's here, but that's ok.
What a present and what a guy!!! We don't celebrate Mardi Gras up here in the frozen north. At least I don't think we do. It's just an ordinary, gray, February winter day (blech!!!)
I celebrated Fat Tuesday last night with all I could eat snow crab legs a small salad and dessert(which was: one 1"x2" shortbread cookie, one bite of pecan pie [w/o the crust],two bites of lemon merienge(spell)[w/o the crust], 4 bites of carrot cake and 2oz of soft serve and I just want to talk about it!)
Hope Mandy is feeling better again now Marsha. Didn't realise you lived so close to New Orleans. As you know we celebrate the day by eating pancakes here in England.
